Williams-Abbott Electric Company fat tapered shaft desk set.

tapered shaft (Williams-Abbott Electric Company)
Williams-Abbott Electric Company
Excellent original condition, transmitter faceplate is brassed out and could be re-nickled or swapped out.

This is a really nice, completely original Williams-Abbott fat tapered shaft desk set.  The faceplate on the transmitter is original, but has been completely brassed out. (Williams-Abbott transmitters are not impossible to find and this would be a good transmitter to swap out when you find an original for sale). Marked transmitter and marked "milk bottle" outside terminal receiver. The Williams-Abbott Company was established in Cleveland in 1895 but was sold in 1907 to the Federal Telephone & Telegraph Company. The scan is from an original advertisement in the July, 1903 issue of Telephony magazine, showing this exact fat tapered shaft.
